I used to think when times got tough
an easy way to deal with stuff
the magic bullet loaded gun
a razor's morbid slicing run
hang a noose about my neck
cyanide, or better yet
a leap from some gigantic height
forever ends these painful nights


That was then, this is now
a wiser view evolved somehow
no cozy way to deal with pain
